Michael Phelps, the most decorated Olympic athlete of all time is about to add another honor to his resume, flag bearer. Matt Lauer announced on the Today show Wednesday morning that Phelps will be carrying the American flag during the opening ceremonies of the Rio Olympics on Friday. Phelps told Lauer that the honor gave him "The biggest smile I've had on my face in a really long time." Phelps received the honor after his fellow American Olympians voted to have him carry the flag into the ceremony.
