The overflowing of the Chico and Adaja rivers has caused flooding that has not been seen for decades. The mayor of Ávila, Jesús Manuel Sánchez Cabrera, declared a state of emergency this Friday due to the flooding that has hit much of the southern part of the city, caused by the overflowing of the rivers and the forecast of heavy rains.
