Longplay of Bodycount, a modernity-themed First Person Shooter, developed by the former creators of FPS game Black (2006) at Codemasters Guildford, and published by Codemasters in August/September 2011 for the PS3 and Xbox 360. It runs on the EGO engine, modified engine from Colin McRae: Dirt. Here played is the Xbox 360 version, running at 1080p60 display resolution, game still remains at 720p and 30 fps, with some AA, perhaps 2xMSAA. Recorded at 1440p60 H.265 HEVC via OBS.

The game is just a straight up ADHD shooter, with tons of enemies, heavy environment desctruction, no story (or a completely bullshit and irrelevant one coz of the way it's presented), and is just basically a tech demo for the engine it runs on. It felt like that for the whole duration of the game. Just run and gun, destroy small objects and buildings, and that's it. I rated it 6/10, as it's just... completely non-ambitious, it has no depth, and is just a brainless shooter, the likes of which there were many other and better on the market in 2011. Nothing special at all.

Bodycount revolves around Jackson, a former American soldier recruited by the enigmatic "Network", seemingly a private military contractor who resolves international conflicts. On behalf of the Network, Jackson must fight different groups of enemies across the globe including terrorists and enemy mercenaries of the hostile "Target" network. The Target network utilises some advanced science-fiction weaponry and is revealed to be influencing global conflicts. As the plot progresses, Jackson infiltrates and destroys bases of the Target network. The primary antagonist is a female Target mercenary who serves as the final boss. The game has an ambiguous conclusion which seems to imply that the Network has established a dominant influence in global affairs with the destruction of the last Target bases in Lagos and Jiangsu.
