THE FLINTSTONE KIDS (Opening Sequence)

This is the opening sequence for "The Flintstone Kids", which ran on the ABC Saturday morning schedule from September 6, 1986 to May 21, 1988. This marked the return of the characters to ABC, since the original series ended in 1966 (Various incarnations aired on CBS in the 1970s and NBC in the late 70s/early 80s)

This show was following in the footsteps of CBS' highly rated Saturday morning cartoon "Jim Henson's Muppet Babies" which featured the babification of the Muppets characters. Hanna-Barbera Studios decided to use that same formula on their own classic characters.

"The Flintstone Kids" centered around the childhood exploits of Freddy Flintstone and his best friend Barney Rubble. They would be joined in their antics by their friends (and future wives) Wilma Slaghoople and Betty McBricker. Always chasing after the group was a young version of Fred's pet snorkasaurus Dino.
