American artist Doja Cat has quickly moved from viral phenomenon with the single "Mooo!" in 2018 to a superstar taking over major arenas. However, she is a superstar who is not afraid to test boundaries or challenge conventions and expectations of how a pop star should act.
After the global success of Planet Her, which in 2021 truly marked her as a new star with a futuristic blend of hip-hop, pop and R&B, she divided opinions with the 2023 album Scarlet, which took on a more confrontational tone, a demonic image and a more raw hip hop and trap-inspired sound. This hasn't stopped singles such as 'Paint The Town Red' and 'Agora Hills' from becoming massive hits, and the album as a whole has established Doja Cat as an artist who can't be pigeonholed, but who definitely also can’t be ignored.
She herself has cited artists as diverse as Nicki Minaj, John Coltrane and Erykah Badu as inspirations, and like her heroes, she is an artistic visionary who doesn't follow trends, but creates them.
Her concerts in the wake of Scarlet have garnered high praise, not only for Doja Cat's strong vocal performance and stage presence, but also for her ability to bring the visual wow effect of her striking music videos to the stage with giant spiders, dancing demons and androgynous costumes. Expect a provocative and captivating show as the rebellious star paints the Orange Stage red.
