How to Install MMod for Half-Life 2

In this quick tutorial, I show how to quickly install MMOD for Half-Life 2.

Here are written instructions if that helps:


1. First, go to your Steam library and make sure you have Half-Life 2 installed. If you want to use MMOD with Episode One and Episode Two, go ahead and install them. I don’t think you have to have Episode One and Two to play the original Half-Life 2, but don’t quote me on that. Anything else you want to use MMOD with, make sure you install it, too.

2. Go ahead and go to this link here: https://www.moddb.com/mods/hl2-ep2-enhased-mod/downloads.

3. Go to the most recent version, which for me right now is version 1.3. Click on that and on this page click the big red Download Now! button. Your download should start automatically.

4. Open the zip archive, and double click on the top folder. Double click again. Now, double click on the top folder where it screams at you “PUT THESE INTO SOURCEMODS DIRECTORY”. Now, in here we can either pick the ones we want, or we can just copy all of them. I am going to go ahead and grab all of them.

5. Navigate to your “Steam\steamapps\sourcemods”. For me this is on my D drive, but the default location is on C under Program Files.

6. If you don’t have a sourcemods folder here, in your steamapps directory, right-click and make one.

7. Go into your sourcemods folder. Select all of the mods you want from MMOD, and then just copy them over to your sourcemods folder.

8. Now, just restart your Steam.

9. When you start Steam back up you should see a bunch of Half-Life 2: MMODs in your library.
