The Reasons Why Resident Evil Left Silent Hill Behind

When it comes to the most iconic gaming franchises in the history of the horror genre, Resident Evil and Silent Hill are the absolute winners of the competition. Both games were considered incredible unique and provided an experience that couldn't be matched in other titles. Resident Evil is an amazing mix of action and survival horror, while Silent Hill is a masterpiece when it comes to psychological horror and atmosphere. But even though both franchises became very popular over time, Resident Evil managed to always remain in the first place and thrive to this day, both commercially and critically. On the other hand, Silent Hill was completely different and started a rapid decline that continued until its complete disappearance for years. There are so many reasons why Resident Evil succeeded and Silent Hill struggled to keep up, but the surprising part is that some of these reasons can also affect the fate of the upcoming Silent Hill 2 remake.
