First Date Ends in Tragedy

On August 4, 2021, Officer Jon Nunez pulled over a speeding 2022 Kia Stinger driven by 24-year-old Luis Fernando Cevallos with passenger 27-year-old Alexis Rodriguez. Despite receiving citations and warnings, Cevallos later crashed into a tractor-trailer while speeding, resulting in fatal consequences for both occupants. This video captures the initial traffic stop, the tragic accident scene, and some of Officer Nunez's interactions with fellow officers and EMS. It was later determined that the Kia was traveling at 124 MPH seconds before the crash. The incident serves as a sobering reminder of the deadly risks associated with reckless driving.
