In the present day, 1996, famed archaeologist, adventurer and author, Lara Croft meets a client named Larson about a potential job. At the Imperial Hotel in Calcutta India in 1996, Lara accepts a job from Jaqueline Natla of Natla Technologies to find the lost Tomb of Qualopec, within which resides an ancient artifact of mystical power known as the Scion. Intrigued, Lara hurries to Peru and with the help of a local guide, is led to an ancient Incan door believed to be the entrance to the abandoned City of Vilcabamba. After her guide is killed by a pack of wolves, Lara steps through the threshold and begins her journey into unknown depths.
