Abigail, now 45 years old and residing in Anchorage, Alaska, had a traumatic experience when she was much younger that impacted her life. She was left to raise their son Zion on her own after the passing of her husband when he was only three years old. Since Abigail and Zion depended on one another for support and companionship, this tragedy forged an unbreakable bond between them.
Hiking was something that Abigail and her husband had enjoyed doing together in the early years of their marriage. The national forests surrounding Anchorage served as a haven for them, a place of refuge where they could escape the stresses of daily life and lose themselves in the splendor of the natural world. Abigail cherished these memories and decided to pass down her love for hiking to Zion to honor his late father.
As Zion grew older, Abigail took him to various hiking sites across Alaska and even ventured into national parks in other states. Zion quickly discovered the joy and serenity of hiking, and he understood how important it was to his mother’s well-being to participate in these activities.
