The PlayStation 2 (PS2) was released by Sony in March 2000 and continued to be produced till 2013, making it one of the longest-lasting consoles of all time. It was the much-awaited successor to the phenomenally popular original PlayStation, the PS1. At this point in the 2000s, history proved that video games were not going to be a generational fad but a long-term human hobby. Hence investment in the industry increased, as did the competition, and this resulted in the creation of many beautiful games, some of which have been likened to exquisite pieces of art. There have been over 4000 games produced for the PS2, of which we list the Top 100 here.
