Freddie Jackson, from Harlem, New York was one of the stars on the R&B scene in the 1980s. His hits included 'Rock Me Tonight', 'You Are My Lady', 'Jam Tonight', 'Tasty Love' and 'Nice N Slow'. He started out his career as a member of the short-lived R&B group Mystic Merlin in the early 80s. He also collaborated and composed songs with fellow New Yorkers Melba Moore, Paul Laurence, and Lillo Thomas.
