May 26 (UPI) -- Google is celebrating swing dancing and dance hall the Savoy Ballroom with a new interactive Doodle.
Google's homepage features artwork of the Savoy Ballroom, which was located in Harlem, New York.
Two members of swing dancing group Whitey's Lindy Hoopers, Frankie Manning and Norma Miller, introduced a commemorative plaque to mark the Savoy Ballroom's entrance on this day in 2002.
Users who click on the Doodle's play button will start a rhythm video game that can be played with up to two players. Users are tasked with hitting the correct keys on a keyboard as two animated figures dance to classic tunes such as "Let's Call the Whole Thing Off" performed by Ella Fitzgerald.
The Savoy Ballroom was one of the first racially integrated public spaces when it opened in 1926 and was the worldwide epicenter for swing dancing.
The dance hall, known as The Home of Happy Feet, enjoyed 700,000 dancers annually and featured performances from Chick Webb, Count Basie, Fitzgerald and more.
The location also gave birth to dances such as the Lindy Hop before closing in 1958.
