Plot:
They were just kids, when their parents have lost everything. It was taken.
Villagers, who lived and worked on the most productive soil in the World, were starved to a slow and painful death. The one's who managed to live were put into slavery. Only now survivors are telling their stories. About their parents living for "better future", about everything that was stolen from them, about starvation of the countryside, about how they managed to survive.
"I hope I was never born" - said one of the witnesses
The tragedy of Holodomor was a part of the plot of the huge world drama that began in 1930's:
The Great Depression in US, Hitler in Germany, The war on the peasants by Stalin.
The last one took private property away from peasants without any choice left. The situation in USSR was also worsen by the government's policy against any national identity movements across the country, but particularly in Ukraine.
You are about to be guided through the story by British journalist Gareth Jones, whose truth about the tragedy in Ukraine was not heard on the West.
Many world leaders were ignorant to the situation. Even though the truth was well known, according to the official documents that were published.
You will experience a good integration of survivors' stories and Jones' diary entries that were written during his visit to Ukraine in March, 1933.
