I've always been a fan of nice teeth. It's the first thing that I always looked at whenever I was going out with a girl was their teeth; I am a big fan of nice teeth. Since getting into dentistry it's been a hugely rewarding career for me. I love doing what I do. I'm here every single day helping patients out, helping them with their health, helping them with their questions, helping them with their concerns, helping them if they're in a crisis situation, whether they could be swollen or have an infection or be in pain. The amount of people I get to help out every year is astounding and so rewarding. I couldn't have picked a better profession if I tried.
I was born and raised in Highland Park, New Jersey, which is about a ten minute drive from here in Old Bridge. I've been a New Jersey guy my whole life; my whole family is from New Jersey. My father is a cardiologist and has been a cardiologist right here in central New Jersey for 30 years. My mom still lives in New Jersey, my sisters still live in New Jersey and my wife and I and our six children together all live in New Jersey. Really it's a great family. I love it here, I really am a local guy who has strong ties to this community and probably will be here for the rest of my life.
I attended New York University College of Dentistry and graduated in 1997. The year after I graduated I attended a residency program at Robert Wood Johnson hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Since I graduated from my residency program I bought an office in Edison, New Jersey, and I've since bought two new practices which has led me here to Old Bridge, New Jersey. In New Jersey one is required to take 40 hours of continuing education every other year. I am a continuing education enthusiast; I want to know the best stuff that is out there in dentistry. If there is something that's being done that can make life better for my patients, or make my job easier, I am going to learn it. Routinely I take about 200 hours of continuing education every single year and I do learn the latest stuff with the treatments and the procedures I do. If there's a better way to do a root canal I'm going to learn how to do it. If there's a better way to place implants I'm going to learn how to do it. If there's a better way to do a bone graft or even a simple gum treatment I'm going to learn how to do it. I believe that my patients deserve the best and if there's something out there that's going to help them I'm going to learn how to do it.
A lot of people come to me when they've been to a bunch of other dentists who have been unable to come up with a solution. I like to think of myself as a dentist who thinks outside of the box and comes up with a lot of solutions that other dentists either may not think of or may not even be qualified to do. I get a lot of cases actually referred to me by other dentists when they're not sure exactly how to restore this case. If you need a dental implant and you've gone to a dentist before and they've told you you're not a candidate that probably makes up about 50% of the patients I place dental implants on. For dental implants coming here, you're going to end up with a good solution.
